APC Lauded For Addressing Plight Of Nigerian Youths In Manifesto

ImageMr Dominic Alancha, National Coordinator, Patriotic and Progressive Youths, on Sunday commended the All Progressive Congress (APC) for its efforts to address the plight of Nigerian youths by including their demands in its manifesto.

Alancha made the remark at a news conference in Abuja held on the outcome of the engagement of Nigerian youths with the APC on the party’s formation processes.

“The demands are aimed at encouraging increased participation of young people in the political process, building the capacity of party agents and minimising election malpractice,’’ he said.

Alancha bemoaned the continuous alienation of youths from the country’s leadership processes.

He lauded the APC for its resolve to include youth representatives in its leadership structures at the zonal, state and local government levels.

Alancha urged all the political parties to foreground youth issues in their party processes, reiterating the determination of the youth to rescue the country from all negative forces hindering nation-building efforts.

“ The manifesto of APC has already provided a clear roadmap on this rescue mission with the APC Youth Charter,’’ he added.

He expressed the readiness of the youth to aid APC’s efforts to deliver its promises to the citizens, urging youths to identify with the wind of change which APC symbolised.

Alancha, however, called on the Federal Government to renew its commitment to the war against corruption by encouraging anti-graft agencies such as the EFCC and ICPC to fulfill their assignment without any interference.

“Government should as well set up special courts to try corrupt persons,’’ he added. (NAN)
